High Priest: A Final Prayer

Sometime after He left the upper room with His disciples (14:31) and before they arrived at the Garden of Gethsemane (18:1), Jesus stopped to pray. This prayer is found only in John 17. It has been called “the high-priestly prayer” of Jesus, because He takes His stand as the priestly intercessor, mediating the relationship between God and man. He intercedes on behalf of Himself, His disciples and all future believers.
