David King of Israel

David had to wait nearly two decades to become king over all of Israel. In the last section (2 Samuel 1-4) we saw how David was made king over just the tribe of Judah in the south of Israel. This lasted for 7-1/2 years. Finally, the rest of Israel decided it was time to make David king over the whole nation. The moment he had been waiting and preparing for had finally come.
