Paul Encourages a Young Church

1 and 2 Thessalonians are important for several reasons. First, they give great insight into how Paul conducted ministry, and how he helped people grow. He shared much about his heart for these people and explains the motives behind his actions. Second, both letters give much attention to teaching on the 2nd coming of Christ and the “rapture” – the calling up to heaven of believers who will be alive when Christ returns. Finally, these letters show us what Paul valued most in the lives of believers.
