The Law Restated for the 2nd Generation

While the title “Deuteronomy” means “second Law,” or a “repetition of the Law,” this final book of the Pentateuch is much more than what that title implies. The second generation of Israelites was poised to enter the Promised Land. They were camped in the territory just east of the Jordan River and would soon be led by Joshua into the land. Moses, who would soon die, gave a final, passionate sermon to this new generation.
